( so crude!!!)
Buganda royal palace was this morning attacked by people claiming to be from the royal clan demanding for recognition from the kingdom authorities. The group says those who are benefiting from the kingdom assets do not have any attachment to the royal clan. Mary Nakajju Nyanzi was at the Lubiri where the youths from Kisekka market calling themselves Baganda Ngabo have taken over the security.
As early as 7.00 O’clock in the morning this group calling itself the legitimate royalties had pitched camp at the entrance of the Lubiri in Mengo saying they are against some of the activities taking pace in the Lubiri. They claimed they had come to evict some people carrying out these illegal activities.
But Buganda government that had been warned of their move moved fast to stop them from proceeding with their move. The youth from Kisekka market quickly swung into action and forced them away from the entrance of the Lubiri. During the scuffle, some were injured.
The seven who were got at the scene were arrested and taken to Old Kampala police. Kisekka market youths have now taken charge of the security of the Lubiri vowing to protect the Kabaka and all of Buganda’s properties from opportunists. Al those they suspected were questioned.
Buganda government spokesperson Charles Peter Mayiga while speaking to WBS said they had since last week been warned of the group’s intentions to disrupt kingdomactivities.
Buganda government has now tightened the security of most of its installations and all suspicion is pointing at Prince Simbwa who has of late been very critical of the Kabaka.August 9, 2011 at 5:46 am #27696Anonymous

Court has dismissed charges of criminal trespass against seven people who were arrested in July while entering Mengo Palace claiming to be Buganda royals.
Mwanga II Magistrate Esther Nakadama acquitted the seven after a State Attorney failed to turn up in court. The State was not represented prompting court to discharge the group, citing lack of prosecution.
“The charges against the seven are hereby dismissed because it appears the State lost interest in the case since the prosecutor is not in court,” Ms Nakadama said.
The suspects include: Godfrey Luwagga, Brian Mulindwa, Kiggundu Kitaggana, Lubega Kalooli, Ronald Wampamba and Paul Lukenge.
Buganda Kingdom spokesperson Charles Peter Mayiga has since denied knowledge of the group, saying the kingdom was not aware of the controversial visit that landed them into charges of trespass.
According to the charge sheet, it was alleged that the accused on July 26 trespassed on the Mengo Palace with intent to annoy Allan Ssentongo,
an official whom they found in charge of the palace. It is reported that the group are descendants of Kabaka Daudi Chwa, who had been complaining over Kabaka Ronald Mutebi’s preference to reside in Banda instead of the Lubiri. Records indicate that the group was blocked by police that had been deployed earlier in the day.December 14, 2011 at 10:00 am #27772OmumbejjaParticipant
