Ebyo bye bibagaana okweggya mu bwavu, so si Buganda gye bawalana. Banaatera okuyiga nti okwesiba ku bya Buganda si bugagga. Ffe ba nnyinibyo tubali bukiika. Banaagenda okwesaanga nga buli kye baanyaga bakituddizza, nga kw’ogasse n’okuliwa ze babba ne ze tubabanja ez’obupangisa.

N’abataka nabo baakiraba ne babekengera. Anti, “Sekawuka kaali kakulumye;bw’okalaba okadduka.”

Buli kimu kye baanyaga kya kutuddizibwa nga bwe kyali. Keebe Fedulo, Mairo Akenda ne kalonda w’ebyaffe ebikyasigaddeyo nga bwe twakkiriziganya nabo ku mefuga mu 1962. Ate obanga tukyababanja, siraba ki kwe basinziira okutusaba ettaka lya Ssaabasajja nga ebisiinga obungi bakyabigaanidde. Ssi ekyo kyokka, mubegendereze. Tewali kye basaba na mwoyo ogutulumirirwa. Nedda, bakimanyi nti awatali Fedulo, tetukkirizibwa kusolooza musolo, nga kitusoka mu nnyingiza mu ggwanika. N’olwekyo bajja kujjanga na nsimbi ez’omusolo bakiramuze, olwo nga naffe tukibawa. Ako ke kakodyo n’olugezigezi mwe baanaayitanga okweddiza bye batakyasobola kunyaga nga bwe baakolanga mu gy’enkaaga. PRESIDENT MUSEVENI’S JUBILEE PRAYER OF REPENTENCE 2012

Father God in heaven, today we stand here as Ugandans, to thank you for Uganda. We are proud that we are Ugandans and Africans. We thank you for all your goodness to us.

I stand here today to close the evil past and especially in the last 50 years of our national leadership history and at the threshold of a new dispensation in the life of this nation. I stand here on my own behalf and on behalf of my predecessors to repent. We ask for your forgiveness.

We confess these sins, which have greatly hampered our national cohesion and delayed our political, social and economic transformation.

We confess sins of idolatry and witchcraft which are rampant in our land. We confess sins of shedding innocent blood, sins of political hypocrisy, dishonesty, intrigue and betrayal.

Forgive us of sins of pride, tribalism and sectarianism; sins of laziness, indifference and irresponsibility; sins of corruption and bribery that have eroded our national resources; sins of sexual immorality, drunkenness and debauchery; sins of un-forgiveness, bitterness, hatred and revenge; sins of injustice, oppression and exploitation; sins of rebellion, insubordination, strife and conflict.

These sins and many others have characterised our past leadership, especially the last 50 years of our history. Lord forgive us and give us a new beginning. Give us a heart to love you, to fear you and to seek you. Take away from us all the above sins.

We pray for national unity. Unite us as Ugandans and eliminate all forms of conflict, sectarianism and tribalism. Help us to see that we are all your children, children of the same Father. Help us to love and respect one another and to appreciate unity in diversity.

We pray for prosperity and transformation. Deliver us from ignorance, poverty and disease. As leaders, give us wisdom to help lead our people into political, social and economic transformation.

We want to dedicate this nation to you so that you will be our God and guide. We want Uganda to be known as a nation that fears God and as a nation whose foundations are firmly rooted in righteousness and justice to fulfil what the Bible says in Psalm 33:12: Blessed is the nation, whose God is the Lord. A people you have chosen as your own.

I renounce all the evil foundations and covenants that were laid in idolatry and witchcraft. I renounce all the satanic influence on this nation. And I hereby covenant Uganda to you, to walk in your ways and experience all your blessings forever.

I pray for all these in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

WHAT IS A CULTURAL INSTITUTION?

Cultural institutions are elements within a culture/sub-culture that are perceived to be important to, or traditionally valued among, its members for their own identity. Examples of cultural institutions in modern Western society are museums, churches, schools, work and the print media.

Television As a Cultural Institution Another example of a cultural institution is television. Television’s has the power to communicate social values and ideas within a society through the shows and stories it exhibits.[1] Television is viewed all over the world and has the power to shape society’s political, social, and moral views.

Experts[who?] commonly name the following five cultural institutions as needed (at least in some way) in any society in order to survive: education, economic system, government, family, and religion.

Code of Behaviour
The Baganda’s code of behavior is the strap that holds the bundle people together. The code of behavior is made up of very many rules. But the elders used to say, teach the child one rule and it will learn tens.

This code of behavior includes qualities like truthfulness, patience, kindness, consideration of others, hospitality, humbleness, forgiveness, good humour, peacefulness, hate of violence, hope, self confidence, patriotism, politeness, trustworthiness, fairness, industriousness, cleanliness, respect of self and of others

In agreement with these, to everything there is a Baganda way of doing it; To greet with both hands, offering one hand is for wrestlers. To sit decently, eat with the mouth closed, to drink without making sounds, to talk politely, walk gracefully etc…
So when someone who calls him/herself a Muganda systematically fails to follow these rules, he’s breaking the bonds that bind him to the rest of the bundle. In so doing he’s alienating himself, like declaring himself not a Muganda. And you’ll hear people say of him, “He’s such a thief, behaves like he’s not a Muganda.” Or that the way he sits makes you doubt their Bagandaness.

Where ever they came from and whatever they looked like, people who abide to this code of behavior are suspected of having Baganda blood. Because the bond that binds the Baganda into a togetherness knows no boundaries. It’s a bond that transcends matter, distance and time. It’s a spiritual thing.

You may cause people trouble for a year, two three or more. They might be quite, but you know they are thinking. If they are good people, before they get back to you, you are always warned first. It’s advisable to remember the rules at all times.

The question is, did Mr Sendaula speak with the people who are warning the Baganda about this Ttabamiruka or are they just relying on unquestionable trust in the organizers? There is so much mistrust and complaints coming from different angles and people. I think an announcement like this, without any investigations in the matter will do very little to help the situation. Reach out to those “selfish individuals,” many believe they are doing more than Ttabamituka does.

Spain, officially the Kingdom of Spain is a sovereign state and a member of the European Union.

Spain is now composed of 17 autonomous communities and two autonomous cities with varying degrees of autonomy thanks to its Constitution, which nevertheless explicitly states the indivisible unity of the Spanish nation. The constitution also specifies that Spain has no state religion and that all are free to practice and believe as they wish.

Mainland Spain is a mountainous country, dominated by high plateaus and mountain chains. There are several major rivers in Spain such as the Tagus, the Ebro, the Duero, the Guadiana and the Guadalquivir. Alluvial plains are found along the coast, the largest of which is that of the Guadalquivir in Andalusia.

Spain is a democracy organised in the form of a parliamentary government under a constitutional monarchy. It is a developed country with the twelfth largest economy in the world by nominal GDP, and very high living standards, including the tenth-highest quality of life index rating in the world, as of 2005.

Ugandan drug dealers survive gallows in China
NV Jun 03, 2012

By Milton Olupot

The Chinese government has agreed to lift the death sentence on a total of 22 Ugandans who were due for execution over offences of drug trafficking.

These are among the 82 people, 39 women, and 43 men, mainly between the ages of 25 and 40, who are languishing in various prisons facing varying sentences ranging from 12 years in prison, to life imprisonment, in China.

Thirteen of them are undergoing trial over related offences. The 22 were sentenced to death, but the Ugandan Ambassador to China Charles Wagidoso, explained, “The execution of the death sentence has been differed, after the intervention of the Uganda government through the embassy.”

“This illicit trade is taking a worrying trend. We get reports of Ugandans arrested so often. Most of these are young people, who are paid about $5000 to carry the drugs,” he said.

“We have lobbied the Chinese government and let them know that these are victims of economic circumstances and they should be handled with leniency,” he said.

Ecclesiastes 8:11-13
New International Version (NIV)

11 When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people’s hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong. 12 Although a wicked person who commits a hundred crimes may live a long time, I know that it will go better with those who fear God, who are reverent before him. 13 Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow.
