Rwanda Sends Spies into Uganda, TZ
256news Friday, 20 August 2010
Rwandan has reportedly deployed spies and hit squads in
Uganda to pursue suspects behind the recent grenade attacks.
The country has also tasked its intelligence to collect and deliver concrete information on the suspects, their backers and their entire network before action is taken, 256news.com has been informed.
The development could spark diplomatic tensions between the two countries.
Reports also say other agents have been deployed in Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Rwanda hopes to smoke out its attackers and their sponsors whom it accuses of seeking to destabilize its development programmes.
Sounds like as Uganda is suspecting Rwanda in the twin bomb attack so is Rwanda suspecting Uganda in the grenades that killed it’s citizens. Just note how Uganda is associating Rwanda with terrorism, while Rwanda is outright calling Ugandans terrorists. Could this be one of the reasons M7 has banned anymore coverage on the topic? Well, was Kalyegira right afterall? He noted that Rwanda didn’t send any message, no condolence note to Uganda after the 11/7 attack.
Rwanda Warns Terrorists: We Are Watching You!
Thursday, 19 August 2010
The Rwandan army has sent a “warning shot” in the direction of any terrorist planning attacks on its territory. A statement from the Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF) spokesperson, Lt. Col. Jill Rutaremara, to 256news.com says Rwanda’s army has a clear picture of the terror network.
Rwanda has suffered several grenade attacks and is a neighbour to Uganda which was bombed by the Al Shabaab terrorists working together with Osama Bin Laden’s Al Qaeda on July 11. Up to 80 died in the attack. Incidentally, like we reported yesterday, Rwanda accuses Uganda and Tanzania of aiding fugitive Generals to attack the country.
Since then, regional security is at an all times high.
Read the RDF statement to 256news.com below:
PRESS STATEMENT: RDF has clear picture of terror network, individuals involved in mindless criminal acts
For some time now, criminal elements who are unhappy with the positive developments in Rwanda have been actively involved in grenade attacks targeting innocent civilians. The attacks are aimed at creating fear and panic among the population and portraying Rwanda as an insecure country.
The Rwanda Defense Force [RDF] wishes to communicate now that it has a clear picture of the terrorists’ network and individuals involved in these mindless criminal acts.
We now have in-depth information on those involved in mobilization, sensitization, recruitment, training, coordination, funding as well as the sources of the grenades and their distribution network, thanks to effective intelligence system, elaborate coordination with other security organs and the relentless and vigilant population.
The RDF will leave no stone unturned in exposing and hunting down these criminals who are responsible for the loss of lives of innocent Rwandans and wishes to strongly warn that those involved in these cowardly acts should be ready and fully prepared to pay highly for their crimes.
The RDF will continue to pursue these criminals and to hold them accountable for their barbaric acts. In the past the RDF has defeated the enemies who attempted to destabilize Rwanda and will no doubt defeat these reactionary criminals.
The RDF would also like to caution non Rwandans to desist from associating themselves with these criminal elements who are opportunistic, misguided and confused.
The RDF takes this opportunity to reassure Rwandans that it will tirelessly work to ensure that they enjoy the security and the peace they deserve. The RDF wishes to thank Rwandans too for their overwhelming support in combating the terrorists, for their confidence and for refusing to be intimidated and going about their nation building programs.

Former President Binaisa passes on
Written by Michael Mubangizi
Thursday, 05 August 2010
Former Ugandan president, Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa is dead. He was 90. He breathed his last today morning at his home in Makindye. Family members say he went to his sleep well and died in his sleep at the dawn of the day. His body has been taken to Mulago hospital for a post-mortem report into his death.
Information Minister, Kabakumba Matsiko said Binaisa will be granted a state funeral, and that Parliament will hold a special session to eulogise him.
Until his death, Binaisa was the only living former Ugandan president after the passing of Idi Amin and Milton Obote in recent years.
The first in a family of eight children, Binaisa was born in Mityana to Anania Binaisa and Naome Manyangwa on May 30, 1920.
In an extensive interview published by The Observer between August-September 2007, Binaisa said he was the only one surviving after the death of his other siblings.
A lawyer by training, he was Uganda’s only Queens Counsel (QC), a title he got in 1962.
He was also Uganda’s Attorney General in the 1960s, a job he acquitted with controversy. For instance, it is said that Binaisa advised his boss, President Milton Obote, to attack the Kabaka’s palace which was done on May 24, 1966.
It is also said that during his tenure as Attorney General, he solely wrote the 1966 ‘pigeon hole’ constitution that abolished kingdoms and made Uganda a republic.
*Born on May 30, 1920
*Elected President at Moshi Conference in Tanzania on June 20, 1979
*Ousted by the Paul Muwanga and Yoweri Museveni-led Military Commission on May 12, 1980.
*Put under house arrest and later ‘pardoned’ by Obote
*Flees to exile in early 1981

Question: Does peace keeping, or peace enforcing or whatever Uganda is doing in Somalia has to be of the violent nature? Can’t help to this very troubled part of troubled Africa be delivered through peaceful talks?July 16, 2010 at 8:01 pm in reply to: M7 Using Terrorism & AmericansTo Keep Him In Power #26771
Does USA really need to feed on Our pain like it’s doing?
SSEMUJJU NGANDA: Ugandans paying for Museveni adventurism
At a personal level, the Somalia adventure is very rewarding to Museveni. Almost everybody in the US is fed up with Museveni but on the other hand, he is still fighting their wars. And once you agree to sacrifice your people to serve US interests, you will be given some breathing space. They will train your soldiers and give you free military hardware.
Those are the benefits Museveni is reaping from the Somalia adventure. There are absolutely no benefits to Uganda.
If we had a sane government, we would never have sent our troops to Somalia. Why make your country a target for terrorist attacks? And which peace are we keeping in Somalia? The obvious answer is that Museveni wants to continue being relevant to the US administration.
Apart from sending our troops to these senseless adventures, Museveni is still paying what I would term as bribes to key lobbyists in the US establishment to plead his case.
We have been paying an annual retainer of Shs 600 million ($300,000) to Rose Whitaker’s company, Whitaker Group, in Washington to soften the stance of the US administrators on Museveni.
Unfortunately the price for his adventurism and overwhelming appetite to remain president is passed onto us.
Our citizens are being targeted and killed by the Somali militias in Mogadishu and they have now brought the heat closer to home.
Finally, as we focus on the bomb attacks, let us not rule out the greedy elements within our system. The creators of ghost soldiers are capable of doing anything just to earn billions. When bombs were being planted around Kampala in the late 90s, government used to release Shs 600 million for the Brig Henry Tumukunde led operations every month. The treasurer of those operations, who is now a retired Colonel, is one of the richest men in Uganda.
Politics is another possibility. Dictators the world over, plant bombs and then use that to curtail people’s liberties, especially the freedom to assemble.
Let us widen our investigations and for once, Bwana Museveni, you must listen.

Zimbabwe charges officials linked to alleged terrorists

A Zimbabwean court has charged two immigration officials for facilitating the entry of two alleged Pakistani terrorists using fake Tanzanian travel documents.
The two Pakistanis, Imran Muhammad and Chaudry Ahmed Pervez Warraich were arrested at the Beitbridge border post early last month on suspicion that they were wanted terrorists.
But last week they were charged with a lesser crime of violating the country’s Immigration Act. The two Zimbabwean immigration officials, Sekayi Shamido and Joseph Mambanje appeared before a Harare magistrate charged with criminal abuse of duty as public servants.
They were remanded in custody until July 23 on $100 bail each.
